N-Power Beneficiaries Urge Tinubu for Permanent, Pensionable Appointments
In a recent press conference held in Kano, the N-Power Beneficiaries Forum urged President Bola Tinubu to consider granting permanent and pensionable appointments to its members. The forum’s chairman, Nazifi Muhammad Abubakar, led the appeal, emphasizing the need for job security and long-term benefits for the program’s participants.
The forum had previously petitioned the Kano State government for permanent appointments, but their request was denied. However, their cause gained support from Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, a prominent All Progressive Congress (APC) supporter. Tejuosho assured the beneficiaries that their case would be reviewed by the government, garnering significant appreciation from the forum.
In recognition of Tejuosho’s contributions, which include offering 15 scholarships to Kano indigenes in various fields such as science and engineering, the forum also recommended her for a ministerial position. They proposed that she be appointed as Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, citing her dedication to supporting N-Power beneficiaries and the underprivileged.
“Dr. Tejuosho’s unwavering commitment and support to the N-Power beneficiaries and the less privileged in Nigeria have been exemplary, making her an ideal candidate for this crucial role,” said Abubakar.
The forum highlighted Tejuosho’s personal financial contributions to assist individuals, especially those with disabilities, youths, and the less privileged. They asserted that her appointment would bolster the APC’s chances in the 2027 elections.
“We, the Kano State youths, assure you when Tejuosho is appointed as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, the APC will win both presidential and gubernatorial seats in the forthcoming election in 2027,” Abubakar added, urging the president to consider their request.
