My Wife is Stubborn, Diabolical, Husband tells Abuja Court

At the Customary Court in Jikwoyi, near Abuja, a businessman Ojo Owo has accused his wife, Muyibat, of attempting to stab him with a kitchen knife during a heated argument. The startling revelations happened in a divorce petition filed by Mr Owo, who is seeking the dissolution of the marriage and custody of their children.

According to the petitioner, the altercation occurred over a minor misunderstanding, escalating to the point where Muyibat allegedly threatened to “destroy, kill, or cripple” him, vowing to leave him unrecognizable to his own family. Owo claims that the incessant fights and the respondent’s behavior have taken a toll on his health, leading to the development of high blood pressure that he will have to manage for the rest of his life.

Describing Muyibat as “stubborn, disrespectful, mannerless, diabolical, and unfriendly,” Owo alleges that he had to abandon their matrimonial home for his safety due to constant threats on his life. Urging the court to dissolve the marriage, he also pleads for custody of their children.

In response, Muyibat, also a businesswoman, vehemently denies the accusations. The Judge, Thelma Baba, advises the couple to seek an amicable resolution for the sake of their children and adjourns the matter until March 7 for further hearings.
