“My Husband Brutalises Me for Refusing Three Rounds of Intercourse” – Police Superintendent’s Wife
An Ogun State-based woman, Dolapo Ogunrombi, has accused her husband, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Taiwo Ogunrombi, of repeatedly assaulting her when she refused his demands for three rounds of intimacy. Speaking to journalists, Dolapo detailed a harrowing pattern of abuse that has left her physically injured and emotionally scarred.
Dolapo, a trained fashion designer and mother of one, recounted how her relationship with Taiwo began as a promising romance but quickly turned toxic. According to her, Taiwo’s insatiable sexual demands and violent tendencies have made her life unbearable. She alleged that her husband, who is attached to the Mobile Police Unit (MOPOL 2) in Obalende, Lagos State, consumes herbal drinks that amplify his libido, leading to his aggressive behavior.
On October 24, Dolapo claimed, Taiwo brutally assaulted her after she refused his demand for multiple rounds of intimacy at their Sango-Ota residence. “He descended on me with fists and a belt,” she said. “I sustained injuries, and my face was bloodied. Neighbors intervened, but he refused to stop until I was almost unconscious.”
She also alleged that he controls her life, forbidding her from working and accusing her of infidelity whenever she turns down his advances. “If I get a job, he storms my workplace, strips me naked, and accuses me of sleeping with other men,” she said. “I have lost jobs because of his behavior, and former employers have told me they can’t retain me due to his disruptions.”
Dolapo further disclosed that Taiwo boasts about his immunity as a policeman and refuses to change despite interventions from his family. “He says no one can stop him, and his children have admitted that he treated their mothers the same way in the past,” she added. “If I don’t cry out now, he might kill me someday.”
Footage obtained by reporters shows Dolapo being attended to by a neighbor after one of the alleged assaults, with Taiwo sitting nearby and dismissing her injuries. The neighbor reprimanded him, saying, “You want to kill your wife for nothing. This is one brutality too many, and it’s damaging your reputation.”
When contacted, Taiwo denied beating his wife, claiming he only pushed her to the bed during a scuffle. He admitted to seizing her phone after finding flirtatious messages and accused her of infidelity. “She saved a man’s number as her brother and exchanged inappropriate messages with him,” he said. “I haven’t slept with her for three months because she denies me sex, yet I still provide for her.”
Taiwo stated that the matter had been addressed during a television mediation program, where he apologized and prostrated before Dolapo. However, he expressed frustration that she was still dissatisfied. “If she wants to leave, she should do so without further embarrassing me,” he said.
Dolapo remains resolute, calling for justice and an end to the abuse. “I don’t want to wait until he kills me,” she said.
