“My Godfather Gave Me N5m to Pay SAN for Pardon” — Bobrisky in New Recording

Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly disclosed that he paid N5 million to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in a bid to secure a federal pardon for money laundering charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a recording released by social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), Bobrisky allegedly explained that the SAN originally requested N10 million but he could not raise the full amount as his accounts were frozen by the EFCC. The audio was reportedly recorded on May 16, 2024, and was made public on October 7, 2024.

Bobrisky claimed that his godfather stepped in to provide the initial N5 million for the legal fees. However, he expressed that he couldn’t request more financial assistance from his godfather, who had already arranged a furnished apartment near the prison for him.

Clearing up speculation, Bobrisky confirmed that contrary to public belief, he was not in prison. He revealed, “I’m not in prison, but I’m around there. They got me an apartment because of my godfather. My godfather was able to say, ‘Never, you will not smell that prison.’”

He further explained that authorities allowed him to stay near the facility, with the understanding that he refrains from public posting. “The Deputy Controller agreed that as long as I don’t post or say anything, I can stay close to the prison, visit my family, and see people,” he added.

Bobrisky also mentioned that his sentence was expected to end by July, but with the possibility of an amnesty, he might be released earlier. He said, “The SAN asked for N10 million, but my godfather provided N5 million, which we sent two weeks ago. The pardon request has been submitted.”

Shortly after the recording was made public, Bobrisky took to Instagram with a light-hearted post, writing, “Nurse Titi, your patient is out again,” accompanied by laughing emojis.

This revelation follows an earlier claim by Bobrisky that EFCC officials allegedly demanded and received N15 million to drop the charges against him. He also claimed that his godfather and the Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment instead of a prison cell.
