My Earnest Prayer is for Tinubu to Rule Till 2031 – Reno Omokri
Nigerian socio-political commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has openly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu, expressing hope that the president will remain in office until 2031. Omokri made the statement via his verified social media account following a meeting with Tinubu in Lagos on Saturday.
He described the meeting as an opportunity to reaffirm what he called his “full, unequivocal, and unwavering support” for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and vision for Nigeria. Omokri, who served under former President Goodluck Jonathan, offered a pointed endorsement of Tinubu’s leadership, praying for the president to complete two full terms in office.
“My prayer is for his Presidency to last for another six years and naturally end on May 29, 2031, after he must have served two terms in office, God sparing his life,” he said.
Omokri’s statement marks a significant political shift, considering his previous criticisms of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His evolving stance has drawn attention and sparked conversations among political observers and his online following, many of whom have noted his growing divergence from past political alliances.
Though details of the meeting remain private, Omokri’s endorsement comes as a notable development amid early signs of political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 general elections. President Tinubu, who assumed office in 2023, is currently in the second year of his first term.
