Mourinho Ready to Take Reins at Al-Shabab on One Condition
Jose Mourinho is poised to take on the managerial role at Al-Shabab, signaling a departure from his earlier stance on the Saudi Pro League. The 64-year-old, recently relieved of his duties at Roma, had initially rejected offers due to his commitment to fulfill his Roma contract.
Following his dismissal from Roma earlier this week, Mourinho is now unrestricted in choosing his next endeavor. Negotiations between Mourinho’s camp and Al-Shabab are reportedly progressing positively, with Sky Sport Italia shedding light on the latest developments.
Turki Alghamdi, a sports reporter, claims to have engaged directly with Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes. According to Mendes, Mourinho is willing to take the helm at Al-Shabab, but there’s a catch – the club must be willing to make ambitious signings, specifically acquiring “star names” to bolster the team.
Currently positioned 11th in the Saudi Pro League, Al-Shabab boasts notable players like Ever Banega, Yannick Carrasco, and Roman Saiss. As the negotiations unfold, it remains to be seen whether Al-Shabab will meet Mourinho’s condition and secure the seasoned manager for their ranks.
