Mother, Son Remanded in Kirikiri Prison for Alleged N122m Property Theft

In a recent court ruling, Lola Disu and her son, Ahmed Disu, have been remanded in Kirikiri prison following their arraignment for allegedly stealing office property valued at over N122 million from Uccas Resources Ltd. The order for their remand was issued by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos after the duo faced a 14-count charge of stealing.

The Police alleged that on June 25, 2021, at the premises of Uccas Resources Ltd located at 16 Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Magboro Bus Stop, Ikeja, Lagos, Lola and Ahmed conspired with others still at large to steal various office properties. These included computers, office chairs, tables, air-conditioners, printers, scanners, copiers, industrial water filters, heaps of undistributed copies of a cargo news publication, confidential documents, internet routers, a 2.9kva generator, fans, among other items.

Additionally, the Disus were accused of forging a court order dated June 25, 2021, which they allegedly used against Uccas Resources Ltd and its Managing Director, Ukata Christian.

One of the charges specifically detailed the theft from the company’s reception area, listing stolen items such as reception tables with drawers valued at N650,000, reception chairs worth N71,000, HP Pavilion Tower computers worth N861,000, a 5-in-1 printer/scanner/copier valued at N73,000, and more. The total value of the stolen reception items alone amounted to N1.705 million.
