Mother, Daughter, 2 Others Die in their Sleep in Enugu

Amaeze Community in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, is in mourning following the mysterious deaths of a woman, her daughter, and two others. The tragic incident occurred on September 1, 2024, leaving the community in shock and confusion as the cause of the deaths remains unknown.

According to reports, the four victims, who had eaten together the previous evening, were found deceased in their sleep. The traditional ruler of the community, HRH Igwe Felix Ugwu, confirmed the unsettling news. He revealed that Mama Chijioke Amaeze, one of the victims, had been caring for her ailing mother in her home prior to the incident. Alongside them were Amaeze’s sister and her daughter.

As the community grapples with the loss, HRH Igwe Ugwu stated that despite an autopsy and investigation conducted by the Nsukka Police Division, the cause of the deaths remains undetermined. The community has decided to seek spiritual insight to uncover the mystery behind the tragedy.

“This incident has left our community deeply unsettled. We are taking every possible step to understand the cause of this tragedy, as it is unprecedented in our history,” the royal father noted.
