Emergency response teams, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), police, and fire services, swiftly mobilized to the scene, battling the flames.
As of the latest update, the cause of the inferno remains unknown, and rescue operations are still in progress. Affected traders, visibly distraught, rushed to salvage whatever they could from the wreckage, highlighting the substantial losses incurred. The fate of the historic Mandilas Building now hangs in the balance as authorities work tirelessly to quell the flames and investigate the root cause of this tragic incident.
