Man beaten to death during turbaning ceremony in Yobe
A 25-year-old man has died after being beaten during a turbaning ceremony in Yobe State.
The incident was reported in a post on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama. According to the report, the victim, identified as Maina Jano, was attacked at a turbaning ceremony held at the Barwa Fulani settlement in Kafetuwa, Karasuwa Local Government Area.
The attack reportedly occurred at about 11:50 p.m. on December 26, 2025. At the time, youths were participating in a Shadi competition as part of the turbaning ceremony of Lamido Alhaji Kunjo.
Makama stated that Jano, who was from the Nassara Fulani settlement in Kumaganam, Yusufari Local Government Area, was assaulted by an unidentified man during the event. He sustained severe internal injuries.
Jano was taken to the General Hospital in Kumaganam for medical treatment but later died from his injuries.
