Makinde Contracted Coronavirus From UCH Management Team – Aide
An aide to Oyo State Governor has revealed that the Governor, Seyi Makinde may have contracted the coronavirus through contacts with senior officials of the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
The aide who spoke in condition of anonymity dispelled rumours that the Governor contracted the disease at the South West unification rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held in the state weeks ago.
Makinde according to the aide has been working closely with the Provost, University College Hospital, his Deputy and the CMD of UCH in the past 8 days on how to curb the spread of the disease in the state without knowing that they have been exposed to the virus outside Nigeria.
“Oga has been working very closely with the Provost of College of Medicine, his Deputy and the CMD of UCH. They have attended several meetings with Oga.
“Oga went for test when these people tested Positive. There’s higher possibility that the UCH team imported the virus because they all returned from dangerous zones 12 to 13 days ago”, the aide said.
Makinde has on Monday announced that he tested positive for the virus. He said he is asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate.
