“Let God Kill Me If I Ever Become a Professional Pastor” – Pastor Jerry Eze Declares
Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International and the widely followed New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has made it clear that he does not consider himself a “professional pastor.” In a candid interview with Chude Jideonwo, Eze declared that if his ministry ever becomes more about personal ambition than divine calling, he would rather God take his life.
“The day I become a professional pastor, let God kill me,” Eze stated. “The day it ceases to be about God and becomes about Jerry, let God close down everything.”
He emphasized that his ministry is entirely rooted in a sense of calling from God and not driven by fame, financial gain, or self-promotion. Reflecting on his unexpected rise to global visibility, particularly after NSPPD gained momentum during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Eze admitted that none of it was part of a calculated plan. “I didn’t plan to be here… If He brought me this far, then I’m trusting Him to help me every step of the way.”
Eze also noted that the impact of his ministry on people’s lives remains his greatest motivation. “I don’t care what anybody thinks or feels, but the encouragement is when I see those smiles and hear those testimonies,” he said.
The pastor concluded by affirming that his life and work are consumed by his divine assignment and a deep desire for people to experience the power of God through his ministry.
