The attention of the Chairman People’s Democratic Party PDP Lagos State Chapter, Engr Adedeji Doherty has been drawn to an illegal movement of polling units which are a stronghold of the Party in Kosofe Constituency II.
There are expected to be two polling units 016A at Boys Approved School and a third polling unit at an open field between Channels TV and Tinubu Estate in Isheri North area of Kosofe Constituency II, reports received indicate that there has been an illegal movement of all the three polling units into Boys Approved School, in Isheri North, by the All Progressive Congress APC, in conjunction with the INEC without prior notification.
This is a plan to disenfranchise lots of voters in that area.
In a Save Our Soul (SOS) call, the PDP Lagos State Chairman Engr Doherty stated categorically that this movement of polling units is totally unacceptable, unconstitutional and against all laws of elections.
He called on the Chairman of INEC Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and the REC Lagos to urgently wade into this fraudulent movement of polling units by the APC and some unscrupulous members of the INEC in Lagos.
He also called out on the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Zubairu Muazu, the DSS, the Civil Defence Corps and all other security agencies in the state to urgently move into the area, to check what might turn out into a break down of law and order.
He stated that as the State Chairman, he does not guarantee the safety of lives and Properties in the area by virtue of this illegal movement.
He further stated that security reports reaching him, indicate that youths in the area are becoming highly agitated by this fraudulent polling units movement, and this agitation might result in bloodshed if not promptly attended to.
He stated that the APC know fully well that this area is a stronghold of the PDP and huge votes are expected from the Hausa community in the area, who have vowed to help flush out the APC.
This he said, cannot be unconnected with the fraudulent relocation of the polling units without prior notice.
He however, stated that events are still being monitored.
He assured all and sundry that a vote for PDP and a vote for Hon Ademola Alebiosu in that area is a vote for freedom.
He urged party faithfuls in the area to remain calm but resolute in the defence of their votes.
