Lagos Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Daughter, Burying Her in Shallow Grave
A man identified as Kamoru Ojo has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his 27-year-old daughter, Shakirat, and burying her in a shallow grave within their compound in the Ojo area of Lagos.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Thursday, April 3, 2025, following a heated altercation between the father and daughter. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical assault, during which Shakirat lost consciousness and died.
In an alleged attempt to conceal the crime, Ojo is said to have buried her body in a shallow grave on their property. Shakirat was later reported missing, prompting an investigation by officers at the Okokomaiko Division.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were dispatched to the residence, where they discovered her remains. The body was subsequently exhumed and transferred to a public morgue for autopsy.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that Ojo is in custody and that the investigation is ongoing.
