Lagos Govt Takes Action Against Noise Pollution, Seals Church, Mosque

In a proactive move to address issues of noise pollution and environmental infractions, the Lagos State government has taken decisive action. The Ansar-Ud-deen Mosque and the Restoration Centre Global Church, both located in Gbagada, have been sealed by officials from the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA).

Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, announced this significant development through his official X account on Saturday. The decision to seal these religious centers was prompted by growing concerns related to noise pollution and other environmental violations associated with their operations.

Mr. Wahab posted images of the sealed religious centers, emphasizing that the move was part of LASEPA’s ongoing efforts to enforce environmental regulations in the state. Dr. Tunde Ajayi, the General Manager of LASEPA, led the agency’s enforcement team in sealing the religious centers.

This action serves as a clear message that the Lagos State government is committed to ensuring a healthy and sustainable environment for its residents. The closure of Ansar-Ud-deen Mosque and Restoration Centre Global Church reflects the government’s dedication to addressing noise pollution and environmental non-compliance within the city.
