Kwankwaso Opens Talks With ADC, NDC Ahead of 2027

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has confirmed that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party and its 2023 presidential candidate, is currently in discussions with the African Democratic Congress and the National Democratic Congress.

Speaking on Monday, the movement’s spokesperson, Mansur Kurugu, said the talks are ongoing and could result in a political alignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kurugu noted that no final decision has been reached regarding which platform the group may adopt. He added that consultations are still in progress among key political figures involved in the discussions.

According to him, the talks include prominent politicians such as Seriake Dickson, Peter Obi, and Seyi Makinde, with negotiations said to have advanced significantly.

He said the outcome could see the group settle on any of the parties involved — ADC, NDC, or even the NNPP — depending on the final agreement.

The development follows a recent meeting hosted by Kwankwaso in Kano, where Makinde, Obi, and Dickson attended a Sallah gathering, further fueling speculation about a potential coalition ahead of the next election cycle.
