Kogi Lawmaker Empowers Constituents with One Motorcycle Tyre Each
A Kogi State lawmaker is making waves online after a video surfaced showing his unusual empowerment initiative. Hon. Idowu Ibikunle, the Minority Leader representing Yagba West Local Government in the Kogi State House of Assembly, was seen distributing one motorcycle tyre each to members of his constituency.
In the viral video, recipients are heard expressing their gratitude, with chants of “congratulations” echoing in the background as they bowed before the lawmaker while accepting the tyre.
The gesture has drawn widespread criticism on social media, with many Nigerians questioning the impact and sustainability of such an empowerment program. Critics argue that distributing single motorcycle tyres does little to address the real needs of constituents or improve their quality of life.
