Kidnappers Kill 3, Abduct 5 In Abuja
Just two days after FCT Minister Nyesom Wike issued a stern warning to kidnappers and their informants during his visit to Kuje Area Council, a heartbreaking incident unfolded in Gbau-Zakwoyiyako village in Gaube Ward. The bandits, undeterred by the minister’s threats, targeted the village on Monday morning, leaving three dead and five abducted.
Wike, concluding his town hall meeting in Kuje on Saturday, had emphatically pledged to pursue and confront the kidnappers responsible for the wave of violence and abductions plaguing the FCT.
Confirming the tragic event via telephone on Monday, resident Ibrahim Danlami shared the harrowing details. The incident occurred around 12 am, with two individuals fatally shot while attempting to escape. Another victim succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital. Additionally, four people sustained bullet wounds and were undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Despite efforts to gather more information, the Village Head of Gbau-Zakwoyiyako, Danlami Sambo, remained unreachable as his phone line failed to connect. Attempts to obtain an official statement from the FCT Police Command, through SP Adeh Josephine, proved unsuccessful as she did not respond to inquiries on the incident.
