Kidnappers Doze Off After Abducting Pastor’s Wife in Ondo
In a recent incident in Ondo State, five suspected kidnappers were apprehended by police after they abducted a pastor’s wife and two others. The victims managed to escape when the kidnappers fell asleep due to the effects of hard drugs.
The arrested individuals were identified as Garuba Mumuni (27), Yusuf Tale (21), Kabiru Muhammed (16), Shaibu Umar, and Adamu Mohammed (22).
According to police reports from the Ofosu Division, the victims recounted being kidnapped from various locations—a church, and a farm where one victim was gathering snails. They were able to flee their captors on different occasions when the kidnappers succumbed to the effects of drugs and dozed off.
Following intelligence gathering, authorities arrested five of the suspected kidnappers on May 1, 2024. The victims positively identified them as part of the group responsible for their abduction.
This incident adds to a string of kidnapping cases in the region, including a previous report from March 28, 2024, where two individuals were abducted, and a woman was tragically killed by suspected kidnappers, as reported at the Ifon Police Station.
The arrests come as a significant development in the fight against kidnapping in Ondo State, as law enforcement agencies continue to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of residents.
