Kidnapped Christian Music Composer, Dr. Jude Nnam, Regains Freedom
Popular Christian music composer and National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Dr. Jude Nnam, has been released after nearly a week in captivity.
Nnam, who is also a member of the National Liturgical Commission of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), was abducted on Thursday evening, around 6 p.m., in Umunnachi, Anambra State, while attending a church function.
After spending nearly a week in the hands of his kidnappers, Dr. Nnam was freed on Wednesday. His family confirmed the news of his release through a heartfelt post on his official Facebook page. The post read, “The victory sound is here. Our dear ‘Ancestor’ Dr. (Sir) Jude Nnam is back to continue the work of the Lord!!!”
Earlier, the family had dismissed as false a message circulating on social media, which claimed that Nnam had been released by his captors.
Dr. Jude Nnam, known by his moniker “Ancestor,” is a prominent figure in Christian music and a respected leader within Nigeria’s religious community. His release brings relief to his supporters and family, who had been anxiously awaiting news of his safe return.
