Keyamo Confirms Approval of Private Airstrip at Canaanland for Winners Chapel

The Federal Government has officially granted approval for a private airstrip at Canaanland, the expansive property of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, located in Ota, Ogun State. This was confirmed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.

The news was initially shared by the founder and presiding bishop of the church, David Oyedepo, in a celebratory video during the Tehillah Night Special Edition at the Covenant University Chapel, Canaanland, on Sunday. The event doubled as a special thanksgiving service following Oyedepo’s 70th birthday celebration in September.

In a statement by the Minister’s media aide, Tunde Moshood, the government’s approval of the airstrip was confirmed. “Yes, the minister approved the airstrip. It is a private airstrip, and the minister approved it,” Moshood stated.

Oyedepo expressed his excitement about the new development, highlighting how it will simplify his travel logistics. “I am sure you will be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland. I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going. Members with their planes will have a place to land and park,” he said.

The airstrip is expected to enhance transportation, particularly for the thousands of worshippers and visitors who travel to Canaanland for the church’s global programs and conferences.

Addressing his congregation, Oyedepo encouraged them to discover and pursue their God-given purpose, using graduates of Covenant University as examples. “Won’t you be glad to know that there are some captains who are graduates of Covenant University that fly me? We don’t have an aviation department here, but they found their place in God and went after it.”

He urged young people to take control of their future, advising them, “Don’t play away your life; you don’t have a spare.”

Canaanland, which hosts the church’s 50,000-capacity auditorium, Covenant University, and various other facilities, continues to grow as a hub for spiritual, educational, and infrastructural development.
