Kano Government Urges President Tinubu to Relocate Deposed Emir Bayero

The Kano State Government has called upon President Bola Tinubu to relocate the deposed 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, from the state, citing concerns over peace and stability.

Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam emphasized that Bayero’s presence poses a threat to the harmonious coexistence in Kano. Addressing the media, Abdussalam clarified the state government’s stance on reinstating the 16th Emir, Sanusi, noting that they had not been served with any court order to maintain the status quo.

“Out of eight respondents, only the Inspector General of Police was served. The Kano State Government and other relevant parties were not,” Abdussalam stated, defending the government’s actions amidst the ongoing chieftaincy crisis.

He also apologized to the Office of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, over allegations involving transportation arrangements for Bayero. Abdussalam accused certain members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating protests against the emirate’s dissolution and Sanusi’s reinstatement.

“Security chiefs have been acting on directives from above, leading to unrest. Sponsored protests and political maneuvering by APC members have further aggravated the situation,” he claimed.

The Deputy Governor appealed to President Tinubu and security agencies to investigate and act promptly to remove Bayero from Kano, labeling his presence as a security threat. “Efforts to communicate the gravity of the situation to the President are ongoing,” Abdussalam concluded.
