Kano APC Chieftain Dies After Elevator Incident in Abuja Hotel

A lawyer and senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdulsalami Ginsau, has died after becoming trapped in an elevator at a hotel in Abuja.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, according to eyewitness accounts. Sources said Ginsau was stuck inside the lift for a prolonged period, raising concerns that delays in rescue efforts may have worsened the situation. He is believed to have died from suffocation before assistance arrived.

Details surrounding the malfunction remain unclear. While some accounts point to a possible power outage, others suggest a mechanical fault may have caused the elevator to stop working. Ginsau was an active political figure in Kano State and had recently been elected as the APC State Assistant Organising Secretary during the party’s state executive elections held on March 3, 2026.
