JUST IN: WAEC Releases 2024 WASSCE Results
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has officially released the results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for the May/June session.
Amos Dangut, Head of WAEC Nigeria, announced today that results for 1,685,889 candidates, representing 93.9% of those who sat for the exam, are now available. Despite challenges posed by insecurity in various regions, a total of 1,805,216 candidates were registered.
Dangut reported that 1,332,089 candidates achieved credits in at least five subjects, including Mathematics or English Language, while 1,301,949 secured credits in five subjects including both Mathematics and English Language. This equates to 72.9% of the total candidates.
However, this year’s performance shows a 7.6% decrease compared to 2023. Additionally, 215,267 results have been withheld due to examination malpractice, accounting for 11.92% of all candidates.
