JUST IN: Valentine Ozigbo Resigns from Labour Party
Valentine Ozigbo, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate who later joined the Labour Party (LP), has officially resigned from the LP.
Speaking to supporters in Awka, Ozigbo revealed that his decision came after “deep retrospection.” He expressed disappointment over the level of corruption within the Labour Party, questioning whether it was any better than the PDP and APC, which the party often criticized as being corrupt.
Ozigbo, who contested the 2021 Anambra governorship election under the PDP and finished second, defected to the Labour Party before the 2023 general elections, where he played a key role in the campaign of LP presidential candidate Peter Obi.
His next political move remains unclear, but strong speculation suggests he may be heading to the All Progressives Congress (APC), where influential stakeholders are reportedly backing him for the party’s gubernatorial ticket.
