JUST IN: Tinubu Meets Wike, Fubara, Rivers Leaders in Aso Rock
President Bola Tinubu on Monday night met with key political figures from Rivers State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in what signals a possible easing of tensions in the state’s prolonged political dispute.
Those present at the meeting included the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara; and other leaders from the state.
Details of the discussion were not made public. However, a source familiar with the development told The Nation that Governor Fubara later accompanied Wike to his residence in Guzape, Abuja, after the meeting.
The meeting comes amid ongoing political friction in Rivers State involving factions loyal to both men.
