JUST IN: Tinubu in Closed-Door Meeting with Fubara at Presidential Villa

President Bola Tinubu is holding a closed-door meeting with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Fubara, dressed in a white caftan and black cap, arrived at the Villa at about 6:20 p.m. for what marks his first meeting with the President since the lifting of the six-month suspension of democratic structures in the state. The suspension, declared by Tinubu on March 18 alongside a state of emergency in Rivers, had placed governance under a sole administrator until it was lifted on September 18, 2025.

The purpose of Monday’s meeting has not been disclosed.

Governor Fubara’s visit came shortly after President Tinubu received several top officials, including Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum Hope Uzodimma, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Federal Inland Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji, and Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun.
