(JUST IN) Terrorists Strike Again: Tsangaya Students Abducted in Sokoto Following Kaduna School Attack
Sokoto has fallen victim to a vicious terrorist attack, with reports emerging of an unspecified number of Tsangaya students being kidnapped from Gidan Bakuso in the Gada local government area. This comes just a day after the heart-wrenching abduction of over 270 pupils from a government school in Kaduna State.
The targeted school’s proprietor, Liman Abubakar, revealed that the bandits struck around 1 am on Saturday. As of now, 15 students remain unaccounted for, though efforts to ascertain the exact count are ongoing. Abubakar described the invaders shooting one person and abducting a woman during the attack.
“This is not the first time our village has faced such a brutal assault,” lamented Abubakar, highlighting the recurrent threat faced by the community.
Kabiru Dauda, the representative for Gada-East Constituency in the state House of Assembly, confirmed the attack and assured that both local government authorities and security agencies were actively responding to the crisis. Meanwhile, reports also surfaced of a separate bandit attack in Isa Local Government Area, where three individuals, including the village head, lost their lives. Habibu Modachi, the representative for Isa Constituency, suggested that this may be a reprisal following recent security operations against bandit hideouts.
The Sokoto State Police Command, through spokesman ASP Ahmad Rufa’i, expressed unawareness of the situation but pledged to contact the Divisional Police Officer for further details.
