JUST IN: Supreme Court Validates Bala Mohammed’s Victory in Bauchi Governorship Election
The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Bala Mohammed as the Governor of Bauchi State. This follows the earlier affirmation by the Court of Appeal in November, which validated Governor Mohammed’s triumph in the March 18 governorship election.
Sadique Abubakar, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had lodged an appeal subsequent to the election petition tribunal’s endorsement of Governor Mohammed’s election. Among the appellant’s contentions was the request to nullify the election, asserting that the forms and booklets used were improperly filled.
However, the appeal court dismissed this plea, stating that the appellant failed to substantiate the claim with requisite evidence. This latest decision by the Supreme Court solidifies Bala Mohammed’s position as the duly elected Governor of Bauchi State.
