JUST IN: Supreme Court Dismisses Omo-Agege’s Appeal, Upholds Governor Oborevwori’s Election

The Supreme Court has officially rejected Ovie Omo-Agege’s attempt to overturn the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Delta State.

The apex court asserted that Omo-Agege failed to substantiate his claims of over-voting and noncompliance with electoral laws, leading to the dismissal of his appeal. The justices expedited the process with a summary judgment due to time constraints, citing the need to address pending appeals from other states.

With this decision, attention now turns to imminent judgments in cases involving the Social Democratic Party (SDP) versus People Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) challenging Sheriff Oborevwori’s governorship declaration.

The dispute involves the three major political parties – APC, SDP, and LP – along with their respective candidates, collectively contesting the legitimacy of Governor Oborevwori’s electoral victory in Delta State.
