JUST IN: “Recent Recruitment Exercise Marred by Corruption, Irregularities” – Police

The Nigeria Police Force has raised serious concerns over alleged corruption and irregularities in the latest round of recruitment for Police Constables. In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, it was disclosed that numerous discrepancies marred the recently released list of successful candidates.

Upon thorough examination of the list published on the Police Service Commission (PSC) portal, it was uncovered that individuals who had not applied for the positions, candidates who failed the Computer Based Test, and others disqualified for medical reasons were included in the final selection.

Earlier this month, the Police Service Commission had announced the approval and publication of a list containing 10,000 successful applicants for recruitment into both constable and specialist cadres. However, these revelations prompted the Inspector General of Police to issue a formal objection letter on June 10th to the Chairman of the Commission, highlighting the detected irregularities.

The unfolding controversy underscores growing concerns about transparency and fairness in Nigeria’s recruitment processes, particularly within the law enforcement sector. The Police Force has vowed to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure accountability in the recruitment procedures moving forward.
