JUST IN: Police Declare British National Andrew Wynne, Nigerian Lucky Obiyan Wanted for Alleged Plot to Overthrow Government
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has issued a wanted notice for British national Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich, and Nigerian Lucky Obiyan in connection with an alleged plot to overthrow the country’s democratically elected government.
In a briefing on Monday, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Muyiwa Adejobi revealed that Wynne and his accomplices are accused of creating a network of sleeper cells designed to destabilize Nigeria. According to Adejobi, Wynne rented a space at Labour House in Abuja and established a school named ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ as a front for his activities.
“Following a thorough investigation and collaboration with other security agencies, we have apprehended nine suspects who received significant financial support from foreign sources to destabilize the country,” Adejobi said. “These individuals are believed to have orchestrated and funded violent protests, spread false information, and engaged in other unlawful actions to incite chaos and justify their attempt to overthrow the government.”
Adejobi further disclosed that Wynne, who allegedly provided both financial and operational support, had directed his Nigerian collaborators to incite violence against police facilities and military barracks. This, he said, was intended to provoke international condemnation and create a pretext for regime change.
The investigation is ongoing, and the NPF has urged anyone with information on Wynne and Obiyan to come forward.
