JUST IN: Police Confirm Arrest of Labour Party National Chairman Julius Abure
The police have officially announced the apprehension of Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), in Benin City, Edo State, located in the South-South region of Nigeria.
The arrest, carried out by operatives from Zone 5 of the Nigeria Police Force, comes in response to a petition filed against Abure, accusing him of assault, molestation, and illegal possession of firearms.
Notably, Abure was in Benin City to participate in the LP Governorship primaries slated for Friday, February 23. The primaries aim to nominate the party’s candidate for the upcoming September 21 polls.
