JUST IN: PDP Disciplinary Committee Submits Report, Recommends Expulsion of Senator Anyanwu

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a major step toward internal discipline as its National Disciplinary Committee submitted its first report to the National Working Committee (NWC) earlier today at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. The report recommends the expulsion of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the former National Secretary, from the party.

The committee cited allegations of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and abuse of office as the basis for its recommendation. These allegations emerged following Senator Anyanwu’s ongoing dispute with the party after the Court of Appeal removed him from his position as National Secretary.

The disciplinary process and subsequent recommendation were made in accordance with the PDP Constitution (2017, as amended). Despite being summoned, Senator Anyanwu, along with former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and others, failed to appear before the Chief Tom Ikimi-led committee on Friday, February 12, 2025.

The PDP’s National Working Committee is now expected to review the findings and act in line with Articles 57 through 60 of the party’s constitution.
