JUST IN: Nnamdi Kanu to Represent Himself in Court as Lawyers Withdraw
IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu appeared in court on Thursday, October 23, 2025, as his legal team formally withdrew from his trial.
Lead counsel Kanu Agabi requested to step down, stating that Kanu had taken control of his defense. Following this, all Senior Advocates of Nigeria on the defense team also withdrew, a development Kanu personally confirmed in court.
Kanu informed the judge that he would represent himself for the time being, though he left open the possibility of re-engaging lawyers later. When offered court-appointed legal representation, he declined.
Speaking for himself, Kanu argued that the court does not have jurisdiction over his case.
