JUST IN: NLC, TUC Insist on Indefinite Strike
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have confirmed that their indefinite strike over the new minimum wage will commence as planned. This announcement came on Sunday, June 2, despite last-minute interventions by the National Assembly leadership aimed at averting the economic disruptions that the strike may cause.
The labour unions are steadfast in their decision, highlighting their commitment to addressing the wage issues affecting Nigerian workers. While the National Assembly has appealed for a suspension of the strike to allow for further dialogue, the unions have stated that they will first convene with their respective organs to discuss the appeal before making a final decision.
