JUST IN: Nigeria Immigration Service Hikes Passport Fees to N100,000 and N200,000
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a significant increase in the cost of Nigerian international passports, effective September 1, 2025. The fee for a 32-page passport with a five-year validity will rise from N50,000 to N100,000, while the 64-page passport, valid for ten years, will now cost N200,000, up from N100,000.
The move follows previous adjustments to passport fees in 2024, though fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged. The NIS stated that the revision aims to enhance service delivery and cover the rising administrative costs associated with passport issuance and renewal.
The new rates are set to take effect at the start of September, and applicants are advised to plan accordingly to avoid delays or confusion.
