JUST IN: Newly Elected Actors Guild of Nigeria President Abubakar Yakubu Arrested After Fatal Crash in Lagos
Abubakar Yakubu, the newly elected President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has been taken into police custody following a fatal car accident in Surulere, Lagos.
Yakubu, who won the AGN leadership election by 116 votes to 113 against Rita Daniels, with three votes invalidated, was reportedly involved in a collision that resulted in the death of one individual.
The Lagos State Police confirmed that Yakubu is currently held at the Barracks Police Station in Surulere as investigations into the incident continue. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the cause of the crash or the expected timeline for the inquiry.
