JUST IN: Katsina Governor Dikko Radda Involved in Road Accident
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was involved in a road accident on Sunday evening, along the Daura-Katsina Road. The incident quickly drew attention on social media after a post by Mohammed Jammal, popularly known as White Nigerian, claimed that the governor sustained a fracture and was receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Daura. The post sparked a wave of concern, with many Nigerians taking to the comment section to express their support and prayers for the governor.
Amid the online speculation and uncertainty surrounding the governor’s condition, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, released an official statement to clarify the situation. According to him, the accident was minor and Governor Radda is in stable condition. He emphasized that the governor sustained no serious injuries and is undergoing routine medical evaluation as a precautionary measure.
Mohammed reassured the public that the governor remains in high spirits and thanked the people of Katsina and other well-wishers for their concern and prayers. He added that Radda is grateful to Almighty Allah for His protection.
While it remains unconfirmed whether the governor was returning from the residence of late President Muhammadu Buhari at the time of the accident, Radda has made multiple visits to Daura since Buhari’s death a week ago. He drew public attention during the former president’s burial when he was visibly emotional during the military honours, struggling to hold back tears as Buhari’s remains were being lowered.
