JUST IN: Adamawa Electoral Commissioner Resigns
The Commissioner of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, has resigned from his position.
In a statement personally signed and made available to the press, Vokna said his resignation, effective October 17, 2025, was driven by personal reasons and the desire to pursue other interests.
“This decision was not made lightly. It stems from personal reasons and the desire to pursue other interests. After due reflection, I believe stepping aside at this time serves the best interest of both myself and the Commission,” he said.
Vokna expressed appreciation to the Governor of Adamawa State for the trust and confidence reposed in him through his appointment, describing his tenure as an honour and privilege to contribute to the strengthening of democratic governance in the state.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the principles of integrity, impartiality, and transparency, which he said guided his service and the credibility of the Commission.
“I am deeply proud of the collective achievements of the Commission and extend my heartfelt gratitude to my colleagues for their support, professionalism, and teamwork,” he added.
Vokna concluded by wishing the Governor, the government of Adamawa State, and the leadership and staff of ADSIEC continued success in their duties.
