JUST IN: INEC Declares APC’s Okpebholo Winner of Edo Governorship Election
Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, has been declared the winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results on Sunday, confirming Okpebholo’s victory with a total of 291,667 votes.
Okpebholo secured wins in 11 out of the state’s 18 local government areas (LGAs), beating his closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,655 votes. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) finished in third place with 22,763 votes.
