JUST IN: Gov Fubara Sacks Another Batch of Ibas Appointees, Makes Fresh Appointment
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dissolved the Board of the Rivers State Microfinance Agency, which was inaugurated less than two months ago by the former Sole Administrator of the state, Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd). The move comes just days after the governor disbanded the Rivers State Pension Board, directing the Accountant-General to oversee its operations until further notice.
The Microfinance Board, one of eight agencies set up by Ibas on August 14, had Prof. Adolphus Toby as chairman. In a statement issued by the Head of Service, Dr Inyingi Brown, Governor Fubara announced the appointment of Pastor Jonathan Tobin as Acting Managing Director of the agency.
The statement directed members of the dissolved board to hand over all properties and assets of the agency in their possession to the new appointee. It further noted that the governor would reconstitute the board at a later date.
