JUST IN: Former Presidential Aide Cairo Ojougboh Reportedly Dies While Watching Nigeria vs. South Africa AFCON Game

Cairo Ojougboh, former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has reportedly passed away. Sources close to the family confirmed his demise during the penalty shootout between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Cairo Ojougboh, who also served as a House of Representatives member representing Ika Federal Constituency from 2003 to 2007, collapsed and tragically succumbed during the intense football match. His family has verified the sad news, noting that his body has been taken to the mortuary.

In addition to his political career, Ojuogboh held the position of the immediate past Director of Projects on the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Born on September 8, 1959, in the Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, he was not only a seasoned politician but also a medical doctor.

Cairo Ojougboh’s contributions extended beyond politics, as he served as the Chairman and Founder of the Ojougboh Foundation. A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former governorship aspirant, Ojuogboh’s sudden demise casts a somber shadow over the Nigerian political landscape.
