JUST IN: Former Immigration Chief David Parradang Killed by Kidnappers in Abuja
David Shikfu Parradang, the former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has been killed by kidnappers in Abuja.
Parradang, a respected public servant who dedicated over three decades to national service, was reportedly abducted in the early hours of Tuesday near Area 1. Sources say he had just withdrawn money from a bank when he was trailed by his attackers. They took the cash from him before ending his life.
His murder highlights the worsening security crisis in Abuja, where kidnappings and violent crimes have become alarmingly frequent. For many who knew him, Parradang was more than just a senior officer—he was a mentor, a leader, and a patriot. His service took him across the country, from Kano to Lagos, Enugu to Kwara, and eventually to the top of the Immigration Service. His contributions were recognized with the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), and he was an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
