JUST IN: FG Declares April 18, 21 as Public Holidays
The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
In a statement issued through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister congratulated Christians across Nigeria, urging them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, and redemption symbolized by the death of Jesus Christ. He encouraged citizens to use the Easter holiday to pray for national peace, unity, and stability.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to drive growth and development across the country. He called on Nigerians to demonstrate goodwill and kindness to one another during the celebration.
The Minister extended his best wishes for a joyful Easter to Christians and warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians.
