JUST IN: FCT Minister Wike’s Loyalists Redeployed in Rivers Cabinet Reshuffle
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has made significant changes to his cabinet. The reshuffle, announced in a statement from the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, on Tuesday night, reflects the ongoing crisis in the state.
The reshuffle involves two commissioners known to be loyalists of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who has been at odds with Governor Fubara. The Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Special Duties (Governor’s Office), while the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu, is now tasked with leading the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.
Governor Fubara directed the commissioners to immediately hand over their responsibilities to their respective permanent secretaries, with all handover processes to be completed without delay.
This move follows a period of mounting political friction in Rivers, with Governor Fubara seeking to address instability and maintain control. The reshuffling of key roles among Wike’s loyalists is seen as part of the governor’s efforts to stabilize the state’s administration.
