Engr. Eric N. Anyamene has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending his membership in Obosi Ward, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
In a resignation letter dated May 1, 2026, and addressed to the ward chairman, Anyamene confirmed his decision to leave the party “with immediate effect,” citing personal convictions and shifting political realities.
“I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obosi Ward, with immediate effect,” he stated.
The development comes amid growing speculation about his next political move. Sources within the field suggest possible alignment with the Young Progressives Party (YPP), National Democratic Coalition (NDC), or the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), though no official confirmation has been made.
Explaining his decision, Anyamene noted that the move followed “careful reflection and consideration” of both personal goals and the broader political climate.
“This decision has been taken after careful reflection and consideration of my personal convictions, aspirations, and the evolving political landscape,” he wrote. “While it has not been an easy decision, I believe it is necessary at this time to enable me pursue my vision for greater service to our people.”
Despite his exit, he maintained a tone of appreciation toward the PDP leadership and members across all levels.
“I wish to sincerely express my appreciation to the leadership and members of the party… for the support, cooperation, and camaraderie extended to me during my time,” he added.
Anyamene also emphasized that his resignation does not signal hostility toward the party, stating, “My resignation does not in any way diminish my respect for the party, nor the relationships built over time.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Obosi, Idemili North, and Anambra State, signaling that his political engagement is far from over.
As of the time of filing this report, his next political destination remains unclear.
