JUST IN: Ekiti PDP Recommends Expulsion of Former Governor Fayose to Party’s Disciplinary Panel

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has recommended the expulsion of former Governor Ayodele Fayose for alleged anti-party activities. The decision was announced by the state PDP Caretaker Chairman, Dare Adeleke, during a press briefing on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti.

Adeleke revealed that the recommendation has been submitted to the Tom Ikimi-led Disciplinary Panel and the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Reconciliation Committee, urging them to take swift action against Fayose. He cited Fayose’s public endorsement of Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a key reason for the move, calling it a direct affront to the values and unity of the PDP.

“It is with deep concern that I must address the anti-party activities of Ayo Fayose and his cohorts. His public declarations and serial endorsements of the opposition are a direct affront to the values and unity of our great party,” Adeleke stated. He urged Fayose to officially decamp rather than continue what he described as misleading and divisive actions.

The PDP caretaker chairman further accused Fayose of filing four separate lawsuits against the caretaker committee within two months of its formation, describing the actions as attempts to weaken the party. According to Adeleke, Fayose’s recent behavior only serves to embolden the APC, suggesting that his allegiance no longer lies with the PDP.

“Mr. Fayose is a survivalist. He wants everything for himself. If a person can sponsor his child as a PDP candidate and then withdraw support to back the APC, based on personal gain, should such a person be taken seriously?” Adeleke asked.

The Ekiti PDP has made it clear that they believe Fayose’s continued presence within the party is damaging to its future. Adeleke emphasized that removing Fayose and his allies is essential for the PDP to regain its strength and maintain credibility in Ekiti States.
