JUST IN: EFCC Declares Ex-Minister Timipre Sylva Wanted Over $14.8 Million Alleged Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva wanted in connection with an alleged conspiracy and dishonest conversion of $14.8 million.
In a public notice issued Monday, the EFCC stated that the case involves funds reportedly provided by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) to Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for refinery construction. The announcement follows a Lagos State High Court arrest warrant issued on November 6, 2025.
The notice, signed by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, called on members of the public to provide any information on Sylva’s whereabouts. The Commission listed its offices in major cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Enugu, and Gombe, and provided a hotline (08093322644) and email address ([info@efcc.gov.ng](mailto:info@efcc.gov.ng)) for tips.
Authorities urged anyone with relevant information to contact EFCC offices, local police stations, or other security agencies to assist in the investigation.
