JUST IN: Dr Anu Adepoju Convicted of Manslaughter in Botched Surgery Case
The Lagos Division of the Federal High Court has convicted Dr. Anu Adepoju for the death of her patient, Nneka Onwuzuligbo, following a failed plastic surgery in 2020.
The conviction, announced by Babatunde Irukera, former head of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), marks a significant moment in the pursuit of justice for the deceased and her family. Irukera, who led the prosecution, revealed the outcome via X, stating, “Dr Anu Adepoju and her medical practice convicted on all five counts charged by FCCPC. The wheel of justice may grind slow, but we must see it through.”
Ms. Adepoju has faced numerous complaints from patients dissatisfied with the results of their cosmetic procedures, further spotlighting the issues within her medical practice.
